ನವಗ್ರಹ ಪೂಜೆ ಮತ್ತು ಹೋಮ
The Navagraha pooja and homa address the nine planetary deities individually, with the japa, dravya and offerings prescribed for each. Where a specific graha is afflicted in the chart, that graha receives the principal emphasis. The ritual is usually preceded by a reading of the horoscope so the remedy is directed where it is needed.

It is strongly recommended. Without it, the homa is performed in a general form rather than directed at the specific affliction.
